• Description:

  Antique commerical built Snider sporting rifle.  No makers name. This sporting 577 Snider was probably built for export.  The barrel shows 25 code Birmingham proofs.  The barrel is "in the white" and appears to have never been blued.  The parts all appear to be commerical and not military surplus.  With a 31" barrel, the bore shows light overall pitting and strong rifling. A trace of Snider patten mark on the breech. Unmarked lock and all commerical iron fittings .  The wood shows original checkering and a horn tip. This rifle was probably sent to a retailer in NFLD in the 1870-80's era and never marked .  This piece could be improved with some TLC.  Mechanically sound (Antique)
