Austrian Pre War Mannlicher-Schoenauer Rifle

    SN 4474 is one of the early classic Mannlicher-Schoenauer rifles built by Steyr.  This example is one of the scarcer calibers ( 8 X 56 MS) which were very popular in Europe but less so in North America.  This rifle shows the 20" barrel mounted with the original two leaf rear and ramp front sight.  The bore rates as excellent plus.  The piece is stocked in European walnut with excellent original checkering and retains all of its original finish with only slight usage marks.  The action is mounted with a factory installed scope.  The scope is a Carl Zeiss (Jena), Zielvier with clear optics and post and cross hair.The scope show factory claw mounts and a single button quick release.  Overall, this rifle shows 97% plus original finish with the only loss on the bottom magazine plate, the bolt release catch and the eye piece portion of the scope.  This item comes with 32 rounds of original slings both 1".  One is the original German braided leather with buckles. The second is a newer military style of adjustable, plain leather.
