  • Description:

A Canadian Cavalry Pattern 1864 sword issued to G troop of Cavalry Napanee Ontario.  This sword shows the makers name on the top of the 35 1/2" blade.  The sword is devoid of the normal British inspector or ownership marks related to the direct supply to Canada.  The sword shows excellent sound grips, Maltese cross guard with unturned edges.  The scabbard is the early pattern which is devoid of a collar below the mouth piece.  The left side of the scabbard shows the larger Canadian unit marking G over 40, a crown inspector mark. Both the sword and scabbard show light corrosion assoCIated with poor storage.  The blade shows scattered staining and pitting, typical of extended storage in the scabbard.  A nice identified Canadian cavalry sword.
