  Antique U.S. Civil War Burnside Cavalry carbine caliber 54, percussion breech loader.  This example shows SN26386, a 21" barrel with a bright excellent plus bore.  The top of the receiver is marked with the Burnside pattern date of 1856.  The barrel shows an excellent blue/brown finish with the correct original sights.  The frame shows muted case color and trace of blue on the lever.  All markings are clear and crisp.  The wood remains in very good to excellent condition with visible inspector marks on the left side of the wrist. This example shows a smooth working action and is an excellent example of a widely issued Civil War cavalry carbine that remains in its as issued and used condition.
