• Description:

  Antique single barrel percussion shotgun.  This example shows the name "Saxton" on the lock.  This was probably the Birmingham maker by this name.  This example was a mid range gun based on the scattered engraving, the bands at the breech and overall reasonable quality of workmanship.  This example shows a 35" barrel in 12 gauge with a bright very good bore with moderate fine corrosion.  The metal rates as very good to very good plus as does the wood.  There are no cracks or breaks.  Clean checkering and original wood finish. A very nice example with its' original rod. Antque
