  A very scarce black powder Hawkin rifle built for a left hand shooter.  50 caliber, 32" barrel, 1" octagonal, excellent bore with a 1-66 twist.  This example is one of a very limited 1 year production by the Ithaca black powder division.  Production started in 1977 and in 1978 the division was sold to Navy Arms.  At the time, the rifles sold for approximately $400.00 and the kits for approximately $280.00.  This left hand rifle shows the double triggers, all browned finish and excellent wood. There is some fine corrosion in the nipple area. Otherwise this piece shows an overall excellent appearance.  The left hand version would be a very difficult variation to locate. Ithaca was considered to be one of the best Hawkins built.
