  SN 4761 is a commerical Snider MKIII built by Thomas Turner.  This Victorian commercial rifle shows a bright excellent bore in 577 Snider caliber.  The barrel shows a mix of original blue and brown with a few minor corrosion marks and T.Turner.  The lock shows Thomas Turner, Fisher Street,Birmingham.  The breech/action locks in tight.  The wood rates very good to excellent and is a selected English walnut with the Turner roundel.  All commerical proofs.  The trigger guard shows a #5496 that may be an associaton number.  Commerical Sniders are far scarcer than military variations.
