• Description:

  SN 55536 is one of approximately 1,700  9 MM automatic pistols built by Webley from 1909 to 1915.  This serial # 55536 is the pistol shown on page 92 figure 11-2 of " World Wide Webley" by Stephen Cuthbertson.  This pistol was in the Victoria Historical Arms Society Collection.  As the photo shows this pistol has damage to the right grip panel and sever blue loss on the barrel and the forward edge of the slide.  Based  on the otherwise excellent remaining finish a decision was made to restore the barrel finish and improve the damaged grip panel. This pistol shows a bright excellent 9mm long caliber bore.  The finish rates overall as excellent with clear crisp markings.  Excellent nickel hammer, trigger and trigger guard.  Chapter 11 of the reference notes the scarcity of this Webley and notes the presentation pistol to Winston Churchill SN 55419.  A scarce Webley pistol for any collection.
