  Halifax Nova Scotia WWII Police Helmet. These  Canadian military helmets were built by G.S.W. and also marked DP & H.  These standard helmets were acquired by the Halifax City Police.  They were painted blue with H.P.D. stenciled and painted on the front.  These were probably the first police helmets acquired by the department.  Helmets of this type were probably issued during the May 1945 V.E Day riots.  A neat Canadian or Police item.We have a number of these helmets available. We acquired all of these H.P.D. helmets approximately 35 years ago in Halifax. We recently found the remaining helmets we had stored away. All are in the same general condition with the original paint & liners. Some of the liners show stiffness in the rubber components. Note- the one you receive may not be the item as shown in the photo but the condition will be the same.
