- Description:
NSN is a presentation rifle presented to the senior foreman of the Toronto factory that built all the wood for the Canadian No 4 Enfeilds and the shoulder stock for the FN highpower. The rifle shows no serial number other than the F3 on the left socket. This rifle remains in unfired condition. The wood shows hand selected high burl overall. The 1044 marking shows an ajoining large C WA. The butt is fitted with a brass plate marked T. Irving Small Arms Ltd 1945. We were told that 4 guns and stocks were presented at the closing of the factory to the President, Vice President, Secretary and Senior Foreman. The high power stock shows the same selected wood with a high grain on both sides. There are no factory markings as usually found on Canadian stocks, but there is a brass plate on the right side of the stock marked T Irving. Inspection of the stock shows no pistol was ever inserted. Together with the rifle and stock is a hand written letter from the son of Thomas Irving. These unique items belong in a significant Canadian WW 2 or Lee Enfield collection
