US Model 1832 foot artillery sword built by Ames from 1832 to 1872 with approximately 16.200 built.The base of the blade is marked US over JH (inspectors mark) and dated 1850. The cross guard is marked JH 9 while the reverse is marked RHKW. This example rides in it's original scabbard with brown leather frog. The blade shows staining but only one small area of light pitting. An excellent example for the US or military sword collector.
